Pre-planning manages those concerns ahead of time and allows you to control the outcome.
Alkaline hydrolysis: A greener alternative to burial or flame-based cremations. The process uses a combination of water and potassium hydroxide to decompose a body down to bones. The process does NOT use acid.
Lastly, it uses 1/12 the energy of traditional cremations, and the process does not produce toxic gases or air pollutants. (Note -- the actual equipment used may differ.)
The concept of a green burial is not new. This age-old method has been in practice for thousands of years. Click HERE for more details.
Many veterans do not take full advantage of their benefits. One of them is the Pre-Need Burial Eligibility Determination benefit, for burial in a national cemetery.
You may not die soon, but when you do, taking care of this responsibility ahead of time could save your family the time and effort of navigating through the VA paperwork maze.
